Short biog:
Robert Lloyd, ‘61 and a bit’, is now print content editor for Media Wales, part of Reach plc.
Once upon a time, he ran his own press, public relations and marketing consultancy. It operated under the ‘does what it says on the tin’ name of Robert Lloyd PR.
Previously, he worked as a newspaper editor, taking charge of the Llanelli Star and Carmarthen Journal newspapers. During a career spanning more than 32 years in newspapers, he was also the deputy editor of the South Wales Evening Post, then the biggest selling daily newspaper in Wales.
He is a former station manager and head of news and sport at BayTV, Swansea’s independent local television station.
His work takes him all over Wales. On occasions, he has been known to stray over the border to England – passport restrictions allowing!
He is married to Carol and lives in Llanelli. The couple have two children – Kathryn and James.
Robert is chairman and a trustee and a news editor for the Llanelli Talking Newspaper for the Blind.
He is a trustee of Age Cymru Sir Gar.
He is a director of Welsh Premier League football side Carmarthen Town AFC.
