More than a 1,000 students are expected to descend on the town to take up exclusive discounts of up to 30% off at over 40 of the town’s most popular retailers between 6-9pm, at the Student Sellout.
This is the third year the event has been held in the town
It is being organised by a partnership of local businesses, Carmarthenshire County Council, Carmarthen Town Council, local public services, Trinity Saint David Student’s Union and the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
Alongside the shopping there will be live music from local bands, entertainment including a climbing wall, bowling alley and rodeo bull; street food traders and bar offers in various locations across the town.
Students can collect their wrist bands from the registration tent on Red Street from 5pm.
The Leader of the council, Cllr Emlyn Dole, said: “Once again this is going to be a great event.
“It’s a great chance for those students who may never have been to the town before to have a look at the great mix of high street and individual shops we have in the town whilst also picking up some bargains with these exclusive deals that are available for this one evening only. Previous events have proved to be very successful and I’m sure that this year will be no exception. I’d like to thank all the businesses who have supported the event.”
All students can pre-register for a free wristband simply go online to register.
If you haven’t pre-registered you can still go along to the event. Find the ‘Register Now’ desk on Red Street. Remember to bring a valid NUS or Student ID card with you – without this, you can’t be issued with a wristband, which gives you entry to the event and exclusive discounts.
